Everybody likes to chat and everyone has their own ideas and beliefs, sharing those ideas and beliefs to groups of people and getting advice or acceptance can be difficult. Chat rooms make it possible for anyone with a computer and an internet connection to join a group of people who use online chat to express themselves in large crowds.
Online chat rooms have been around since before broadband was even invented. The very first text based chat room platform had a maximum of 5 chatters and limited channels, messages would appear on the other users computer screens in real time, character by character. These days, most chat rooms are webcam enabled, so you can chat live with people without using the keyboard, listening to their voice and watching their expressions.
Most chat rooms are free chat rooms that do not require registration. We live in a lazy world, chat sites without registration are easier to access and in most cases, you can start chatting to groups of people, within a couple of mouse clicks. If we werent so lazy we would reap the benefits of registering a free account, creating a personal profile and having access to all the hidden features of a chat site, that a lazy guest chatter doesn´t have.
Chat rooms are now full of great communication tools, from webcams, instant messaging, creating your own group chats in private chat rooms or having a one on one conversation with a person from another country, on webcam. The best thing about free chat sites is that you do not normally need to download any software, the entire chat experience will work online in your browser.
Meeting people in chat rooms is as much fun as meeting people in real life, you can be shy, but online chat is different, you can easily lose all of your inhibitions, making it that bit more fun. Some people pretend to be another person and live a different life online, so it is always best to join a moderated chat room, get to know the person first, normally by introductions and make sure they are who they say they are!
Chat rooms are out there, hundreds of them, people are chatting whilst you are reading this.
